Our Journey
Our journey began amidst the breathtaking landscapes of the Himalayas, where inspiration struck and Wildalaya was born. Join us as we weave dreams into reality, one stitch at a time, creating a world where fashion thrives in harmony with nature.
Wildalaya is a slow fashion label born from my love for nature, storytelling, and heritage. We create clothing from hemp and natural fabrics—pieces that are breathable, durable, and timeless, designed to be worn and cherished for years.
Our philosophy is simple: clothing should feel good on your skin, tell a meaningful story, and leave the lightest footprint on the earth.
Our love for textiles
It's is born out of a juvenile love for textiles,
cherishes sustainable threads and,
through journeys from Dharamshala to Pushkar,
discovers kindred spirits and artisans to create attire as beautiful
as Earth’s blue hues,
with each woven piece embodying a journey of love and
nostalgic memories under the warm greeting,
'Namaste!' Wildalaya was born.
Our Story
Hi, I’m Meg, the founder of Wildalaya. Wildalaya began with a simple love for natural fabrics.
Growing up in India, I was surrounded by colour, texture, traditional prints and the quiet beauty of handmade work. My mum never really wore synthetic clothing, and without even realising it, I grew up choosing the same — cottons, linens and fabrics that felt breathable, lived-in and real.
Linen always felt special to me. It was more expensive, so the few pieces I owned were treasured and worn with care. They taught me to appreciate clothing that softens with time, ages beautifully and feels alive on the skin. That curiosity eventually led me to hemp — a fibre I fell in love with for its strength, breathability and incredibly low impact on the earth.
When I moved to Australia, I found myself missing that deep connection to textiles — the kind of clothing that carries culture, craft and a sense of soul. Wildalaya was born from that longing: a small bridge between my roots in India and my life in Australia, between traditional craftsmanship and a slower, more conscious way of dressing.
At the heart of Wildalaya are natural fibres like hemp, cotton, linen. We choose them for their comfort, durability and gentle footprint. Hemp, especially, holds a special place in our story. It grows with very little water, needs minimal chemicals, and creates pieces that are strong, breathable and made to last.
Every Wildalaya piece is made in small batches with our artisans in India. From hand-block prints to natural textures and relaxed silhouettes, our clothing is created with care, not rush. We work slowly and intentionally, creating pieces that feel easy to wear, beautiful to keep, and kind to the planet.
From my little home in Perth, I design, pack and send each order with so much love. Every dress, shirt, skirt and co-ord carries a journey — from the hands that made it, to the person who will wear it.
Wildalaya is more than clothing. It is a celebration of natural fabrics, Indian craftsmanship, everyday comfort and slow living. One piece at a time, it is my way of bringing soulful, thoughtful fashion into the world.
