From Pushkar, with Love - A Note From Our Founder

From Pushkar, with Love - A Note From Our Founder

I just got back from Rajasthan, the place where Wildalaya took shape — and I feel so full, inspired, and connected again. This time, I was in Pushkar right during the International Fair. The whole town felt alive… colours, music, food, artisans, camels, marigolds everywhere — it was a reminder of why we create the way we do.

I spent my days visiting our artisans, soaking in the energy of the fair, and taking a little space for myself too. A lot of clarity came through — about Wildalaya, about storytelling, and about staying rooted in slow, mindful creation. I’ve added a few photos below so you can see a glimpse of this beautiful, spiritual little trip.

Afte a few days immersed in work—finding the perfect buttons, the right colours and shapes, connecting with the artisans and their families—we finally enjoyed the fair: the biggest mela in Pushkar. Time was beautiful, memories were made.

Staying in Pushkar with the artisans’ families was an experience I’ll never forget. We shared chai in the mornings, sat together for meals, and were welcomed into their world with warmth and generosity. By day, they worked diligently, each movement deliberate and skilled, and by evening, the excitement of the mela filled the air. They took me along, and it was impossible not to be caught up in their joy and anticipation.

Seeing the Wildalaya pieces come to life up close was inspiring. Every step of the process felt like a celebration of creativity, care, and patience. The organisation, the artistry, and the love poured into each piece were tangible; it was clear why every garment is designed to last a lifetime.

Being there reminded me why we do what we do at Wildalaya. It’s not just about creating clothing; it’s about connecting with people, respecting the craft, and celebrating sustainability. Every piece carries the dedication of the hands that made it, the stories of the families behind it, and a commitment to a wardrobe that honors both you and the planet.
